With its satirical allegory, it reflects on the overwhelming critique of the
rise of Russian communism that took place in 1917 that had left a
great impact on Russian history.
The conflict starts off strong when the old major, a twelve year old boar,
summons all the present farm animals to gather in the big barn in the
hopes of delivering an important speech. The moment when all the active
animals arrive, he knowledges them with a strange dream that he has had
in which he precisely states how all their lives are short yet the entirety of it
is miserable. As he continues, he further picks out the many negative
inferiors. He asserts that all the animals ought to have freedom and
deserve to live freely with no humans ever being able to torment them. He
portrays a vision where no man is able to persecute or control them and
thoroughly instructs them to stick as well as work together as comrades in
order to win equality along with justice amongst the animals.
With that, he begins to harmoniously chant the anthem "Beasts of
England". Upon hearing the alluring lyrics it was crystal clear for the
mistreated animals to get the idea to finally overthrow the human race and
bring an end to this once and for all. After 3 nights pass by, the old major
bites the dust in his sleep peacefully. The following three months the
animals prepare themselves for the upcoming rebellion predicted by the old
major. The literate pigs which go by the names, Napoleon, Snowball and
Squealer focus on educating the rest of the animals. They have illustrated
, old major's sayings into a system known as "Animalism". For several nights
the 3 clever pigs work on teaching the animals about the grand principals of
Animalism which was not easy for them as they were showered with great
difficulties like having to answer inane queries. On top of that, the made up
lies brought by the mosses about the so-called, "Sugar Candy mountain"
[which was a complete struggle for the pigs.
As a result, the ultimate uprising of the grand rebellion approached sooner
than anyone had expected. One morning, Mr Jones and his people neglect
to feed the farm animals. That is until the evening comes up and that's
when the animals go feral. With their raging livid minds, they furiously break
into the store shed and feed themselves with the delicacies. In a matter of
fact, Mr Jones and his 4 men arrive with whips in their hands but
unfortunately for them, the animals were so out of control which eventually
caused them to react vigorously and finally defeat them. With pure ecstasy
rupturing in their minds, the animals merrily celebrate their earned luxury.
Soon, the animals get to work and eliminate any remaining trace of Mr
Jones. They take over the property and rename it "Animal Farm" and even
established their own unique flag. Following, Snowball, one of the leading
pigs, inputs the 7 key commandments of animalism on the barn. Before
harvesting, the pigs made sure to milk the cows. Woefully though, when the
animals come back they notice the creamy milk to have gone missing.
All the animals work spontaneously on the farm. As for the pigs, with their
sharp knowledge, they mainly supervised the others. Boxer, the carthorse
with his great strength along with his hard working personality makes an
affirmation "i will work harder" and adopts it as his personal motto. A
general assembly known as the 'Meeting' was held every Sunday with a
view to discuss and build plans about the future including debates. The two
pigs, Napoleon and Snowball, cast the debates where none of the two pigs
would go hand to hand with their suggestions. At last, the meeting would
come to an end with them proudly singing 'Beasts of English”.
