1a. Domain of Healthcare Quality
Timely, efficient, and equitable care are imperative domains to delivering quality healthcare.
Timely care focuses on reducing unnecessary waits and delays, which can hurt patients and
providers, ensuring that individuals receive the appropriate care promptly. Efficiency emphasizes
the importance of minimizing waste. Including: equipment, supplies, time, or energy—so that
healthcare resources are used wisely, and systems function smoothly. Equitable care ensures that
the quality of services is not compromised by geographic location, socioeconomic status, or
other demographic factors, thereby supporting fairness and equal opportunity for all patients.
Together, these domains create a foundation for healthcare systems that are responsive, resource-
conscious, enhance quality of care, reduce costs, and are just.
