Fall 2025

, Fall 2025 Practice Exam 3 ECE 3710
[DISCLAIMER: Exam 3 will be accessible via Gradescope. This PDF serves as a document
to present similar General Instructions and Honor Code sections that will appear on Exam 2
and several practice problems to serve as preparation for Exam 3.
Exam 3 typically has 12-14 Short Questions and 2-3 Computational Questions (and each
computational question may have 3-6 parts to it, e.g. parts a to d). This PDF will have
more problems for each category than Exam 3. There are no points assigned to the problems
because I do not create the exam and I’d prefer not to make assumptions on the point system.
Any questions about Exam 3 should be directed to Dr.West (), while any
questions about this Practice Exam 3 PDF should be directed to me ().]
General Instructions
- The exam is open book and notes.
- Students are not allowed web search for solutions.
- Students are not allowed to work with or share solutions with other students.
- The total allotted time for the exam is 120 minutes which includes time to upload your solutions.
- Round all numerical answers to the 2nd decimal place. For example, 1.234V becomes 1.23V. Do not leave
answers in terms of fractions.
- Unless otherwise stated, use standard units. For example, voltage would be Volts, unless the problem asked
for something specific, e.g. kiloVolts. [DISCLAIMER: Due to rounding, there will be an acceptable
tolerance on numerical value answers. For example, if you rounded your answer for Part A,
and Part B relies on the values from Part A, we will have an acceptable tolerance range for
Part B.]
Honor Code
- Students taking this test are required to sign the “Challenge Statement” advocated by the Honor Advisory
Council: “I commit to uphold the ideals of honor integrity by refusing to betray the trust bestowed upon
me as a member of the Georgia Tech Community.”
[DISCLAIMER: On Gradescope, in Exam 3, you will be required to select “Understand the
above”, since you will not be able to provide a hand-signature.]
