To be conducted by the teacher-examiner or by the visiting examiner between 7 April and 23 May 2025.
Time allowed: 21–23 minutes (including 5 minutes’ preparation time at the start of the test)
Instructions
• The contents of this Booklet must be treated as strictly confidential until the end of the test
window.
• Candidates must not use a dictionary at any time during the preparation period or during the test.
• During the 5 minutes’ preparation time at the start of the test, candidates are required to prepare
one of the two cards given to them.
• Candidates may make notes during the preparation time only on the Additional Answer Sheet
provided. They must not write on the card.
• Candidates may refer to the card and any notes they have made at any time during this section of
the test.
• Candidates should hand the stimulus card and the Additional Answer Sheet to you before the start
of the independent research section.
Information
• The test will last approximately 16–18 minutes and will consist of a stimulus card (5–6 minutes), a
presentation by the candidate of his/her research project (2 minutes) and a discussion of the
research project (9–10 minutes). The discussion should focus on the content of the research, not
the process.
• You will ask the questions exactly as they are printed on the card and should ask follow-up
questions to develop the discussion of the sub-theme.
• You will give a brief response to any questions which the candidate asks you during the
discussion.
• If the candidate does not ask two questions, you will invite the candidate to do so before the end of
the discussion on the sub-theme.
• To develop the discussion of the sub-theme, candidates will be expected to respond to questions
and discuss in Spanish broader issues within the sub-theme on the card.

La popularidad de la Iglesia protestante
En las últimas dos décadas se ha visto en Hispanoamérica un incremento enorme en el número
de protestantes.
En El Salvador, por ejemplo, más del 38% de la población dice ahora ser protestante.
Las razones son varias. Están los que opinan que hay menos formalidad que en la Iglesia católica;
otros dicen que el protestantismo ofrece más libertad e igualdad y que la música en sus servicios es
más moderna.
