History of Present Illness (HPI)
The pa ent is an 18-year-old male who experienced a sudden loss of consciousness while
standing in class. The episode lasted approximately 30–60 seconds. Witnesses report that the
pa ent appeared pale and had brief jerking movements of the limbs but did not foam at the
mouth or lose bladder/bowel control. The pa ent regained consciousness spontaneously and
was confused for a few minutes a erward.
He reports feeling lightheaded and dizzy prior to the episode, with transient blurred vision. No
chest pain, palpita ons, shortness of breath, or headache before or a er the event. No previous
similar episodes reported.
No history of recent trauma, infec on, or significant illness. Diet and hydra on were reportedly
normal that day. No medica ons or supplements taken. Family history is nega ve for sudden
cardiac death or seizure disorders.
