Clinical Model- the narrowest interpretation of health
Role Performance Model- able to fulfill their role regardless if they have clinical illness
Health-Illness- move back and forth within a health continuum daily
3. What is the hierarchy of Maslow’s needs?

Secondary prevention- the action taken to identify possible signs of a problem (breast
exam/testicular screening, blood pressure screening, cholesterol testing)
Tertiary prevention- the action taken after illness is present to prevent complications or
restore function (medication, therapy)

Infants- educate parents, immunization, breast feeding, sleep patterns, safety
Children- nutrition, rest/exercise, immunizations, safety/injury
Adolescents- hormonal changes, nutrition, exercise/rest, peer influence, sexuality,
safety/accident
Older adults- drug management, sleep, physical fitness, safety, exercise
