A1: Analyze how well the chosen company’s code of ethics covers the topic of
corporate social responsibility (CSR).
Corporate Social Responsibility is the ethical duty that an organization must fulfill in
respect to their workers, the people in their community, and the environment. I chose
Kaiser Permanente because I do not recognize the name of the organization and I want to
judge the company's ethics as an unbiased student. After reading the organization’s code of
ethics, I believe that Kaiser Permanente addresses every responsibility within the scope of
organizational ethics.
Their first two sections are labeled “Do the Right Thing” and “Preserve the Trust of
Our Members, Patients, and Customers.” Within this section they cover the organization’s
Ethical responsibility to members within Kaiser Permanente, and everyone who the
company comes in contact with. Through sections like “Respect Confidentiality, Privacy,
and Security” Kaiser Permanente stresses the importance of treating patients in an ethical
manner.
