Hello everybody, I’m gonna tell you about an incredible series
called The Simpsons. It’s an animated sitcom created by Matt
Groening, it was first diffused in 1989. This series has been
broadcasted on TV since 1990 and is famous all around the world.
The Simpsons show us about the day life of a middle class
American family whose members are:
homer, he keeps eating bad food and works in a nuclear plant.
His wife Marge, a housewife who have very long blue hair
they have 3 kids, the older is Lisa, she shines like a star and that’s
not only because of her hair but also because of her intelligence.
the second is Bart, a duffer and the last one is Maggie who is an
eternal baby. And you know what is strange with this family?
They all have yellow skin and four fingers, who here has a yellow
skin and four fingers? No one I guess.
The series takes place in a fictional city called Springfield.
This sitcom deals with current topics such as ecology, for
example, Lisa speaks out against deforestation and stands up for
animals that are threaten by the nuclear plant.
An other topic is sexuality, in deed, the series shows a positive
image of homosexuality and has contributed to encourage people
to accept their sexuality. (smitters et burns)
One of the most important subject covered is bullying through
Bart, Ralph and Milhouse’s characters mistreated by Nelson.
Finally, The Simpsons pave the way of the role of women in the
society, particularly with Marge, who is fed up with being a
housewife and who wants to emancipate, and her daughter Lisa
who will be elected president of the USA in one episode.
There are a lot of issues discussed in that show but we can’t
develop all of them.
To conclude, I warmly encourage you to watch this series because
you could easily connect to the characters and have fun because
it’s above all a humoristic and satiric series.
