Introduction to IELTS Speaking
The IELTS Speaking test is a face-to-face interview lasting 11–14 minutes. It has three parts:

Part 1 – Common Questions & Sample Answers
1. What is your full name?
My full name is Khalid Hasan Ridoy. You can call me Ridoy.
2. Where are you from?
I’m from Bangladesh, a South Asian country known for its rivers, greenery, and rich culture.
3. Do you work or study?
I’m currently a student. I’m preparing for higher secondary studies and planning to pursue my
bachelor’s degree abroad.
4. Do you like reading books?
Yes, I enjoy reading self-development and psychology books. They help me understand people and
improve myself.
5. What do you do in your free time?
In my free time, I watch educational videos, work on creative projects, and sometimes help people
in need, which makes me feel fulfilled.
Part 2 – Cue Card Sample
Describe a person who has inspired you
You should say:
• Who the person is
• How you know them
• What qualities they have
• Why they inspire you
Sample Answer:
I’d like to talk about my mother. She is the most hardworking and caring person I know. I’ve known
her all my life, and she has always supported me in my studies. She manages our home and still
finds time to encourage me during stressful periods. Her patience, kindness, and determination
inspire me to work harder and never give up. Because of her, I’ve learned the importance of
responsibility and compassion.
