Abstract
This qualitative research investigates the influence of unqualified educators on the undergraduate
education system in Liberia, West Africa. The study addresses the pressing issue of educational
quality, which is crucial for national development and economic growth. Through in-depth
interviews and focus groups with students, educators, and academic administrators, the research
aims to capture the lived experiences and perceptions of those affected by the presence of
unqualified teachers. This study explores the impact of unqualified educators on the
undergraduate education system in Liberia through a transcendental phenomenological lens. By
focusing on the lived experiences of students and educators, the research aims to uncover the
essence of these experiences and the implications for educational quality and student success.
Findings will reveal how the lack of proper qualifications among educators contributes to
inadequate teaching methods, low student engagement, and poor academic performance. This
research not only seeks to highlight the challenges faced by students but also aims to inform
policy recommendations for improving teacher training and recruitment processes in Liberia.
Ultimately, the study aspires to advocate for a more effective educational framework that
prioritizes qualified educators, thereby enhancing the overall quality of undergraduate education
in the country.
