Format: Format is up to you, however, please consider this a professional document, so no need
to be incredibly creative. No preference regarding spacing (i.e., double space, single
space) or font size.
Word Count: No firm word limit or page limit for this assignment but I imagine most essays should be
between one (1) and two (2) pages. Assignments that represent comprehensive answers
and brevity will be viewed favorably.
Instructions: You may, if you wish, discuss the prompt with other classmates, however, all written
work must solely be your own.
You can, but are not required to, cite cases or the appropriate section of the Companies
Ordinance. As this is not a research paper, it is unlikely that you will need to cite another
person’s work, however, in the event you do use someone else’s work you must cite. No
preference on citation style as long as it’s clear.
Assessment: This assignment is to help you improve your writing and feel more comfortable applying
Company Law principles. This assignment is pass/fail and will represent 5% of your
overall course grade. As mentioned, there should be no reason for any student not to
receive a full pass for this assignment as long as the assignment is submitted on time
and a good faith effort is made to legitimately complete the assignment. I reserve the
right to deduct points accordingly for any assignment that does not meet this standard
or is submitted late. Obviously, do not plagiarize or otherwise violate the University’s
academic integrity policies.
As you write, please keep in mind the following:
• Content (proper identification of issues and accurate application of principles)
• Structure & Organization (assignment logically laid out and well-organized)
• Well-written (grammar, spelling, efficiency, etc…)
Submission: Via Turnitin on the course Moodle page. Do not put your name on your assignment. For
identification purposes, please list only your student ID number and your section (i.e.,
A or B).
Due Date: Sunday, October 26, 2025 (by 11:59 pm), please note that earlier assignment
submissions will be accepted before this date.
Late Policy: If an assignment is submitted after the above Due Date and time, the final grade of the
assignment will be reduced by half the potential value of the assignment for each day
the assignment is late. For example, an assignment submitted one day late will be worth
2.5% of your final course grade instead of 5%, two days late 1.25%, etc…
