A learning organization is a growing organization. Huawei can safely and confidently
consider itself to be a learning organization based on the five disciplines as famously laid down
by Peter Senge.
Building a Shared vision
Huawei has adopted this discipline which underlines the importance of every member of
a company being able to identify with its vision and mission. The company, being a digital
organization, categorically stated in its mission statement, realizes the essence of not just
recruiting employees based on their expertise (Huawei, 2020a). The company values the ability
of an individual to relate and be on board with its vision. This allows the employee to provide
and realize the level of input that is expected of them daily, be it on a creative, physical, and even
mental level without feeling aggrieved or exploited in the process (Zeeman, 2017).
Systems Thinking
Huawei recognizes the need to analyze a situation wholesomely instead of just looking at
a section of it. The company appreciates that problems are inter-connected in that one problem is
a result of another. The telecommunications industry is extremely creative and is highly
dependent on a company’s ability to provide innovative products and solutions consistently.
Therefore, whenever these problems arise, the company aims at not only solving the problem but
providing a solution to other aspects that are inter-related to the problem. The company has
heavily invested in its research and development department to enhance the speed at which it can
come up with innovative products that offer solutions like smart phones which have an integrated
network system to that support 5g networks instead of just offering the super speed networks
