Project Management Plan
Project Background
The project is founded on the need to build a dream house that will be located at a four-
acre lakefront property. The dream house to be constructed is a modern-day house with three
bedrooms (each with one bathroom except for the master bedroom that will have two), a living
room, a family room, a guest room, a kitchen, a dining room, a studio, a basement, a gaming
room, and a garage. The construction is scheduled to begin on the 15th of June, 2020. The
process is programmed to run for four exact months with its completion set to be on the 15th of
October,2020.
Project Scope
The projected will be achieved within the defined budget of a million dollars. The project
will be deemed successful with the completion of the actual house, the polishing of the
compound area, the installation of electricity and water as well as the full implementation of
interior design on all different rooms as per the demands of the client. For success to be
achieved, the project will call for different professional services. They include the architect, the
engineer, the project manager (myself), a supervisor, an expeditor, the construction workers, an
electrician, a plumber, and a foreman.
The architect will be charged with creating the ultimate structural design that will carry
the vision on which the house will be built by as will have been agreed by the client. These
designs will be passed over and communicated to the engineer who will be charged with
providing the technical avenues that will be used to achieve the aforementioned design. my role
as a project manager will be to oversee the whole project from the beginning to the end. I will be

tasked with receiving daily operational reports and receipts for daily monetary activities and
transactions relating to the project. The supervisor will provide the link between the field
workers and myself, in that, the concerned individuals will oversee the workers throughout the
project and report any concerns to me. The expeditor will be responsible for the oversight of
every construction material that is purchased for the project. They will order these materials as
per the required volumes set by the engineer and will work closely with the suppliers. The
position holder will monitor the use of these materials to ensure there is no misuse. The
construction workers will use their expertise to build the house as per the laid-out design by the
architect and by the strict directives of the engineer. The electrician will come in and make
electrical installations across the house in a manner that will guarantee its full functionality. The
plumber will make water installations across the house and also ensure its full functionality. The
foreman will be asked to monitor the workers’ discipline in reporting in and out of work. They
will be tasked with payroll creation for the workers, hiring, firing, and promotion of the workers
and responding to injuries and other problems encountered by the workers in the line of duty.
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
The WBS allows the deliverables in the project to be subdivided into more manageable
components. Below is a chart that demonstrates this breakdown.
