Ford Motors’ mission and vision statements
The company’s vision statement reads: “To position ourselves as the most trusted
company in the world by designing smart vehicles for a smart world.” The statement looks to
broadcast the company’s strategic goal which is to secure the topmost position in the car making
industry on a global scale. It goes on to elaborate on the avenue it wishes to achieve this strategic
goal, that is, manufacturing smart cars that will be suitable for its different markets globally
which it generalizes in the phrase ‘smart world’.
The company’s mission statement is: “To better people’s lives by making mobility
affordable and accessible. The statement highlights three components. The first is the company’s
push to better people’s lives by making their move easier and faster through the cars it produces.
This, the company reveals through the second and third components, will be achieved by
ensuring its products are available and more importantly, at affordable rates.

2020). The cost leadership business strategy has always been part of the company’s way of
working. This is demonstrated by the fact that Ford Motors embeds this business strategy in its
