Managing Organizations and Leading People C200 Task 2
(A1) To begin this paper, I completed the Seven Habits Profile to see how I scored in
different areas of effectiveness. After reviewing the results, I found that I seemed to be pretty
good, in my professional opinion, in all areas except for one. The category that I showed the
most weakness in was category 5. Category 5 of the Seven Habits Profile is generally about
procrastination and prioritizing responsibilities that I am expected to complete. I do believe that I
do show some discipline in carrying out plans but not as much as I should. I realize that this area
needs improvement. I do have a problem with trying to take on multiple tasks at the same time
delaying all tasks instead of tackling one at a time and making sure the task get done on time. I
understand that multi-tasking can take away some of the quality of an assignment or task because
that task does not have my entire focus.
One of the categories that I do believe is a strength is category one. Category one depicts
someone’s emotional bank account. I think that I am a kind and considerate person and I am
aware of fellow employee’s feelings and emotions. I try very hard to understand where people
come from and what they might be going through at this point in their lives. One thing I am
proud of, especially at the workplace, is that fact that I stay out of drama by not speaking
negatively about others when they are not present and I try to leave the situation if someone else
tries to do so. Along the same lines is category seven, which is the desire to seek first to
understand the people who work for and with you. I feel like I have an ability to connect and
develop relationships with employees. These relationships can develop in to strong bonds and
provide trust with the workforce.
