, Dosage Forms
• “Pharmaceutical product” and “pharmaceuticals” refer to
chemical substances intended for use in the diagnosis,
prevention, treatment and management of disease(s) in
man and in other animals.
• Pharmacology is the science that studies the effects of
chemical compounds on living animals, especially the
science of the manufacture, use and effects of medicinal
drugs. Deals with the medicinal characteristics of a specific
drug.
, Dosage Forms
• Pharmaceutics is the art and science of dispensing medical
drugs. It is concerned with the preparation, use, or sale of
medicinal drugs.
• Pharmaceutics also covers the non-scientific aspects such as
how to make medications more palatable, identifying
economical and easily available raw materials, etc.
