4. How is a SWM completed? -SWM will be introduced and announced to the employee
-Observation, Explanation, Commentary, and Drill will occur
three times throughout the shift.
-The shift begins with the first round of observations, Train-
er marks any at risk method observed as an "N" immedi-
ately. Any method not observed must be review and marked
with an "R." Any method observed not marked as an excep-
tion will be marked as a 'Y" at the end of the shift.
-Next the trainer will provide the employee an explanation
of the at-risk methods observed.
-Next, the trainer will provide commentary, by demonstrat-
ing the correct methods that were marked with an "N."
-Next the trainer will Drill with the employee to ensure the
understanding of the safe work methods performed incor-
rectly by having the employee explain and demonstrate the
correct methods.
-After the middle round, the trainer will demonstrate how
