Benefits of Entering a Career Immediately
Acquiring practical experience and skill development are some of the justifications for
entering the workforce immediately after high school. Attending college is not the only viable
and commendable path to success and personal fulfilment. Many famous and successful people
such as Bill Gates are examples that joining the workforce earlier is beneficial to obtaining
practical experience, avoiding financial burdens and pursuing personal goals that are not taught
in college classrooms. For many students, especially those who come from disadvantaged
communities, joining the workforce immediately after high school is a viable path that leads to a
fulfilling and prosperous future.
Entering a career immediately after graduating high school allows a person to start saving
money rather than spending it. In the United States, college education is expensive since it
encompasses tuition money, money for food, transport, books and entertainment. Going directly
to the workforce helps avoid the financial burdens of going to college and allows a person to

into a career lead to financial freedom compared to going to college since one can choose to
marry, buy property and move out of their parent’s house, which is difficult when one is in
