As there are over million of animal
species present in the world,
therefore the animals have been
classified into diff categories to
make their study more systemized
and easier.
There are certain basis upon which
all animals are classified. They are:
, 1.) Level of organization
Cellular level. Eg: sponges
Tissue level. Eg: coelenterate, ctenophore
Organ level. Eg: platyhelminthes onwards
Organ system. Eg: annelid and other
higher organisms
2.) Symmetry
Asymmetric: having no plane. Eg: sponges
Bilateral: having single plane. Eg: annelids
Radial: having more than one plane. Eg:
echinoderms
