Someone who has influenced me in
my life
In my life, there are several people in my family who loves me a lot who has made
unmatchable contributions to fulfil my dreams but among them my father’s contribution is
unforgettable. He is the person who has influenced my life because he is the one that gets to know
me the best. He has always stood by my side and also encouraged me to stand up on my own feet.
He has influenced my life by always showing the right way.
My father was born in the 1959s in Mauritius during the British period. Mauritius was known
as a trading hub because it connects many countries for trading. At that time, my father was the six
children of the family and my grandfather was very poor but he has done a lot of effort to educate
his children as his priority was to give his children a better education. My dad always told about all
the difficulties that he had gone through.
Firstly, my dad has taught me the biggest lesson of my life. He told me that in order to
become a successful person and also to earn people’s respect is hardworking as there is no shortcut
in life to gain success. From my childhood, he has taught me to respect the world, people and their
value. He has devoted his whole life to help me in my education. He always tells me a man always
face the truth as this helps me a lot whenever I am in a trouble.
Secondly, the teaching of my dad is cure to all my egotism. He always taught me to respect
everyone in the family as the same and to love them by sharing and giving. One day, when we were
returning from cinema we saw a man who was asking for help as he has missed his last bus to return
home. But when I saw I was very suspicion as I think that he was trying to fool my dad but
fortunately there was a police station nearby, so, we took him there and my suspicion was correct
he was a thief who loot a lot of people at night near the cinema and the police was searching for him
a longer time. My dad told me not always trust any strangers as they can harm you. This was the
most important lesson in my life.
Furthermore, my dad is an impressive person who has always led an honest life. As a high-
ranking government officer, he has always been known because of his honesty, brave and
responsibilities. In his office, every government officer search for him as he has always done the right
things. As he taught me to be honest on everything that we do because people often described us by
our character and personality. So, we do wrong things such as taking bribe people will always have
bad opinion on us. When I saw my dad, I felt like I am very lucky because he is always a very
important person in my life.
Moreover, when I was at the age of 14, my dad told me that in this age, children distracted
from their goals so he made me realised that education is the only thing that gives knowledge with
education comes opportunity. My dad is a great example for me as today where he is now is just
because he was very discipline. I always followed his teachings as I also believed that with education
and responsibility is very important for me to realise my dream.
