Instructions

3. You are allowed to access your prescribed works and the study material. You are howeve
not allowed to copy verbatim from your study material. You should provide answers in you
own words. In the case of any cheating or plagiarism no mark will be allocated.
4. The exam can be downloaded on Monday 23 October 2023 at 11:30 and must be
uploaded by Monday 23 October 2023 at 15:15. Should you complete your exam before
the official completion time, please commence the uploading of your exam answer file
immediately – do not wait for the session to conclude.
5. The system will close at 15:45 on 23 October 2023 (South African time) and all late
submissions will be rejected. NO LATE EXAM ANSWER FILES WILL BE ACCEPTED.
6. We prefer that you type your exam answers and then upload your exam answer file as a
single PDF document on the myExams platform. Incorrect answer scripts and/or
submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms will not be marked and no
opportunity will be granted for resubmission.
7. The exam answer file must be uploaded as a PDF electronic document. Do not password
protect your PDF file or upload as “read only” file. Incorrect file format and uncollated
answer scripts will not be considered.
8. Answer all three questions in this question paper.
9. Number your answers exactly as the questions are numbered.
10. You may use a non-programmable calculator. Round off your answers to three decimals,
where necessary.
11. Show all your working details (calculations).

1. Upload your answer script as a single file in PDF on the official myExams platform. The
University only marks one submission received from a student. Priority is granted to scripts
received via the myExams platform.

2. NO e-mailed scripts will be accepted.
3. Students are advised to preview their submissions (answer scripts) to ensure legibility and
that the correct answer script file has been uploaded.
4. Students are permitted to resubmit their answer scripts should their initial submission be
unsatisfactory.
5. Uncollated answer scripts and scripts with an incorrect file format will not be considered.
6. Incorrect answer scripts and/or submissions made on unofficial examinations platforms
(including the Invigilator cellphone application) will not be marked and no opportunity will be
granted for resubmission.
7. A mark awarded for incomplete submission will be the student’s final mark. No opportunity f
resubmission will be granted.
8. A mark awarded for illegible scanned submission will be the student’s final mark. No
opportunity for resubmission will be granted.
9. Submissions will only be accepted from registered student accounts.
10. Only the last answer file uploaded within the stipulated submission duration period will be
marked.
11. Students who have not utilised invigilation or proctoring tools will be deemed to have
transgressed Unisa’s examination rules and will have their marks withheld. If a student is
found to have been outside the Invigilator App (by exiting or minimising the Invigilator App) f
a total of 10 minutes during their examination session, they will be considered to have
violated Unisa's examination rules and their marks will be withheld.
12. Assessments invigilated by the Invigilator App require a student to activate the QR code. Th
QR code is available for activation 15 minutes before the start time of the examination and 3
minutes after the official start time of the examination. Students who fail to activate the QR
code within the available 45 minutes will be deemed not to have utilised the invigilation or
proctoring tools and will have their final marks withheld.
13. Students have 48 hours from the completion of their examination to upload their Invigilator
results from the Invigilator App. Failure to do so will result in students deemed not have
utilised the invigilation or proctoring tools and such students will have their final marks
withheld.
