to the nature of the data .

When data is classified according to source, it is customary to make the

Primary data means the raw data which has just been collected from the
source and has not gone any kind of statistical treatment like sorting and
tabulation. The term primary data may sometimes be used to refer to
firsthand information.
Mostly the data is collected through observations, physical testing, mailed
questionnaires, surveys, personal interviews, telephonic interviews, case
studies and focus groups, etc.
Primary data provide qualitative data .It means it gives information on
subjective quality.
