Is a type of lawyer who specialise in court room advocacy. Their job is to
complete objectives such as taking cases in superior courts, tribunals, drafting
legal pleadings, researching the philosophy, hypothesis and history of law, and
giving expert legal opinions. They are people in a formal legal position who is
recognised by various regulations. p4
Solicitors-
A solicitor takes detailed instructions and statements from clients, completes
legal research, manages correspondence, liaise with experts and barristers,
attend court, conduct litigation and advocacy and drafts legal documents.p4

What is the code of the CPS?
The code showcases certain principles they must adhere by when on a case, these will impact their
decisions and the way they do everything when on a case.
This code involves two main stages where two questions are needed to be answered when in a case
such as the Evidential stage (Is there enough evidence against the defendant?) and the public
interest stage (Is it in the public interest for the CPS to bring the case to court?)

Our decisions will be independent of bias or discrimination, but we will always
consider the interests of others. We will act with integrity and objectivity and
will exercise sound judgement with confidence.
