Lab 6: Detailed Software Design Using Design
Patterns (Deliverable 3)
Winter 2026
Dr. B. Earle
Carleton University Lab Section: L2E
Department of Systems and Computer Engineering
Submission Requirements:
Please read the following instructions very carefully and follow them precisely when submitting your individual
lab report and team deliverable document!
1. Individual Lab Participation Report: Every student must individually submit a lab participation
report. This is a simple brightspace quiz where you declare your attendance and explain how you participated
this week during the lab. Note: students who lie on the participation report risk receiving a zero in the
entire lab project. Please be honest, individual participation during lab sessions is only worth 5%, do not
risk the potential 30% penalty.
Your individual Lab 6 report is due by 11:59PM on Tomorrow
2. Team Deliverable Document (covering Labs 5 & 6): This lab contributes to Deliverable 3.
Every team must submit a project deliverable that comprehensively addresses the lab tasks detailed in the
associated lab sessions. Students are encouraged to structure the deliverable with a clear and logical flow to
effectively present solutions and support their reasoning. The deliverable must contain detailed and concise
responses and solutions to each task, thorough explanations of the methods and approaches used to address
each task, and conclude with a separate page that provides a detailed and accurate account of each team
member’s contributions, covering both the technical work and the preparation of the deliverable document.
Your team Deliverable 3 document is due by 11:59PM on one week after lab 6
• Your individual lab report and team project deliverable must be submitted on Brightspace.
• Late report or deliverables will not be accepted.
• You are responsible for ensuring that your project deliverable is submitted correctly and without
corruption. Double-check your submission to ensure it is correct!
Grading Notes:
• Your individual Lab 6 report is worth 1% of the final grade.
• Your team Deliverable 3 document is worth 10% of the final grade.
• Lab Reports and Project Deliverables will be graded according to the respective rubrics provided in
the “Lab Project Description and Expectations” on Brightspace.
• Your report and deliverable will be evaluated based on the quality of your responses and solutions (not
the length). You should ensure that each task is completed with thoughtfulness and depth, showing
your ability to analyze issues, and synthesize solutions from various sources of information.
