Video Graphic Questions – Elements of a Feedback
Loop
I’ve used screenshots to create these questions that relate to the Elements of a Feedback Loop video.
You can have two screens open. One will be the video and one will be this document. As you follow
along watching the video, you can pause to answer the specific questions. You will save this completed
document and then submit it through the Submit-It link as a scored Assignment.
Elements of a Feedback Loop
1. How do we think of a human as a ‘system’?
We are constantly getÝng input and constantly giving output; however, a feedback loop does
not really exist until we take that output and it feedbacks into the system.
2. What are the parts of a feedback loop; both the terms and what parts of the body the terms
would describe.
The receptor and effector are organs – the receptor is a sensory organ and the effector is an
organ that acts in response. The stimulus and response are actions – the stimulus is an action
that evokes a response, and the response is the caused action of the effector.
3. In the loop, where do you find the receptor, the effector(s), the stimulus, and the response?
(see below)
The receptor is always in the middle. There are 2 effectors – one that always sits at the top, and
one that always sits on the bottom. The stimulus and response are on either side.
