Symptoms of AAA
, sensation of abdominal discomfort, back pain, pulsation of
abdomen, or flank pain. Less frequently individuals may
complain of pain in the legs, chest or groin area.
They may also report anorexia, nausea, vomiting, or dyspnea
Treatment of AAA
Patient w/ an AAA of 4cm or larger should be referred to a
vascular physician.
Open surgical repair is the classic and generally reliable
approach.
Endovascular stent grafts repair (EVAR) is the preferred
surgical repair for ruptured aneurysms as recommended by the
Society of vascular surgery p.536
ASCVD risks factors 1st category
The first group includes those in need of secondary prevention
who have demonstrated clinical ASCVD.
defined as history of MI, stable and unstable angina, coronary or
other arterial revascularization, stroke, TIA, or peripheral
vascular disease (PVD). p576

Involves patients in need of primary prevention. Those patient
with elevation of low density lipo-protein cholesterol(LDL-C)
above 190mg/dl w/o secondary cause such as high saturated fats
or causative drugs. p.576
