Rapid Response Team
1. Assess the learner:
-identify learning needs
-learning style
-readiness to learn
-what they already know
-what they want and need to learn
-what they are capable of learning and what would be the best way to teach them
2. Develop Behavioral Objectives:
i.e. outcomes or goals.
Usually start with "The patient will......."
3. Planning and implementing teaching:
-Develop a plan on what will be taught
-When and where
-Start with the need to know information before you discuss the nice to know
information.
4. Evaluation of learning:
-Ongoing appraisal of the patients learning progress.
-May reuse return demonstrations
-ask the patient to restate instructions
