Personal Leadership Evaluation
Clifton Strengths Assessment
Signature Themes
Signature themes I got here are connectedness, responsibility, includer, restorative, and
achiever, I was surprised by outcome – I had never thought my top 5 would be these themes. I
have heard of the Clifton Strengths assessment from my past psychology classes, so I am not
new with the Exam, and I would have never thought of getting these results. I was also shocked
that I only got themes that fit the executing and relationship-building leadership domain.
however, after reading the whole report, it brought clarity and made me note that these are the
talents I did not know I pocess. After dissecting each theme, I can see what it indicates about my
leadership.
First, I have always been that person who trust that everything happens for a reason, so
the connected theme did not surprise me. As the test results show, I highly value relationships,
and I naturally see a more profound meaning connected to conversations, learning, relationships,
growth, development, opportunities, challenges, and purpose (Gallup, Inc., n.d.). Mistakes
happen naturally, and the inherent value in learning outcomes; essentially, every experience is
meant to teach us something and make us better people and leaders always (Gallup, Inc., n.d.).
This theme may indicate that I have a strong suit in relationship building, such as collaboration,
coaching, support, and guidance. This talent could also guide me to develop a strong,
meaningful, and connected team by bringing cohesiveness and showing others how they play a
part in realizing the organization's goals.
Next, I always take on the roles and responsibilities that I commit with pride, so the
responsibility theme did not come as a surprise either. Perhaps, it is because I am the oldest
, child, and my parents have taught me to take psychological ownership of responsibilities and
become a role model to my siblings. Because of this reason, I have developed high expectations
of myself and everything I do so I do not let others down. This theme indicates that my
leadership includes taking accountability and responsibility for others' actions and being willing
to produce strategies for improvement instead of blaming others. This strength may also indicate
that others can count on me, especially in ensuring that the team is on track and all deliverables
are high-quality results and on time.
Another relationship-building strength I got is includer. According to the result, I accept
and welcome others, work well with everyone, show awareness of those who feel left out, and
ensure they are included and heard (Gallup, Inc., n.d.). I believe this theme ties in with my
connectedness strength because I want everyone to feel like they belong and make sure their
opinions are included. This theme highly likely indicates that I will be a leader who asks others
and takes their opinions when making decisions. This talent will also promote the participation
of everyone and encourage team communication to improve their commitment to the goals.
Furthermore, I got restorative strength in executing leadership domain. I was surprised I
got this result because I do not see myself as a critic, but the assessment proved otherwise.
According to the assessment insights, I am adept at dealing with problems, enjoy working
through complex problems, figuring out what is wrong, thinking critically about solutions, and
resolving problems (Gallup, Inc., n.d.). This theme strongly indicates that my leadership includes
being helpful to others by asking thoughtful questions and offering sound advice on what they
need to fix or improve. It also includes leading them to restore missing information, ideas, and
processes. This strength can help me as a leader to inspire others to think in new ways, update or
improve processes, challenge standard thinking, and improve team morale.
