OBRA (Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act) – answer law passed that states minimum
standards for nursing assistant training, staffing requirements, resident assessment
instructions, and information on residents rights.
Role of nursing assistant – answer Helping residents with toileting needs, assisting
residents to move around safely, keeping residents and living areas clean, encouraging
residents to eat and drink, caring for supplies and equipment, helping residents dress,
making beds, giving back rubs, helping residents with mouth care.
In service education hours – answer A minimum of 12 hours required per year to keep
skills updated.
Care plan – answer Individualized for each resident, developed to help achieve the
goals of care.
LNA Scope of Practice – answer NA's do not administer medications, do not honor a
request to do something outside of the scope of practice, do not perform procedures
