A1. Company culture, organizational structure and the strategic direction can affect the decision-making
process of a company. The fishing boat manufacturing company’s culture of innovation positively
affects the decision-making process by using the ideas, feedback and collaboration of employees,
customers and fellow innovators. They have cultivated a culture where employees and founders are
considered equal partners. This culture incentivizes employees to work harder and smarter and with a
more invested mindset to the bottom line of the business.
The decentralized organizational structure leads to the autonomy of employees making decisions
without the direct managerial go ahead due to the trust and equality of upper and lower-level
employees and management. This autonomy allows for quicker implementation and or resolution in
situations that could mean the difference of keeping or losing a customer. This structure also eases the
ability to expand the business because of its flexible nature and can be molded to fit the needs of the
situation or local needs of the market.
The company mission statement, “We will provide the most innovative customer-driven design and
growth in the industry.”, ensures that the consumer is heard and their ideas are used in developing a
prototype that can be tested by consumers for feedback in implementing a finished product that is the
most beneficial for the target market.
The company culture, organizational structure and their mission statement all fall under their main
focus, or vision statement, “We will be the most sustainable company in the industry.”. By giving the
employees, consumers and fellow innovators the ability to contribute to the design and implementation
of products they can keep revising and improving the ways and ideas that the product uses to sustain
the economy, society and environment around them.
A2. The company’s culture can affect the market entry strategy if the company researches the cultural
norms of the region they are entering. The inclusive aspect of the manufacturing company is not
necessarily used in India’s business culture. Finding employees that can adapt to the new culture could
be a challenge.
