1. Smith Consulting will use a team structure to accomplish the strategic goals of the
company. The employees will use their various skills and abilities to align tasks to
individual strengths. The initial team members will include the three college interns
that have been identified to assist with building the consulting business. Once the
business has successfully grown, new members with complementary skills will be
brought on board to further advance the mission of the business. Together the team
will be able to face any challenge presented!
2. To ensure a successful team structure Smith Consulting will include a
departmental(functions) factor to provide overall organization. This will give a clear
idea of departmental responsibility and allow goals/tasks to be assigned based on
those same areas of responsibility. To proactively address any lack of accountability
or action in the overarching team structure, Smith Consulting will also have a clear
chain of command within each department and the organization as a whole.
Together, these factors will keep a structure that encourages accountability even when
