Economics has been an essential part of business studies because it provides a set of tools which enable you to make
effective decisions in the business environment. Empirical research is now an important part of economic studies which
allows you to test hypothesis and economic models with real world data. You can plot graphs, run regression or simply
use descriptive statistics to understand the relations, trends and behavior of different economic behaviors.
At the end of this course, you should be able to understand and apply economic principles, theories and models
to do various economic-analyses in business and in everyday life. This project serves this purpose and enables
you to equip yourself with the amazing skills that will make you stand out in your group.
Another valuable aspect of this project is ‘Teamwork’. A group of 3-4 people is given a specific topic of
research and they work collectively to write a research paper (2500-3000 words). Teamwork promotes
creativity and builds conflict resolution skills, sense of ownership and risk-taking ability. This project not only
teaches you about one research problem but gives you numerous other valued skills.
