Sleep is essential to the body because it enables the brain to learn and

create new memories. Sleeping is vital in removing toxins in the mind

that builds up when a person is awake.

2. How many hours do you need to sleep? 7 hours

3. What are some causes of sleep disturbance?

1. Behaviors (Example) an instance of a practice that leads to sleep

disturbance is keeping irregular sleep-wake schedules. The other

behavior is taking long naps in the afternoon.

2. Lifestyle (Example) one lifestyle that causes sleep disturbance is

drinking alcohol to help induce sleep, which leads to restless

sleep. Smoking close to bedtime is also another factor causing

sleep disturbance because nicotine is a stimulant.

3. Diet (Example) one cause of sleep disturbance is eating a big meal

too close to bedtime. Moreover, drinking a lot of fluids later in the

evening is a cause of sleep disturbance.
