Discuss nursing considerations in a health history interview -

An interview is a planned conversation with a purpose i.e. Info
exchange, identify problems, evaluate change, teach, or provide
support or counseling.
A Health History Interview is one type of interview and is part of
the admission assessment.

Structure:
Two types of interview styles, Directive and Nondirective
Directive interview- highly structured and elicits specific
information. The nurse establishes the purpose and pace at the
beginning. This type of interview is good for when time is short i.e.
ED admission of critical patient.
Nondirective interview is a rapport building conversation where
the nurse allows the client to control the pace, purpose, and
subject.
Usually a combination of interview types is used.

Time, place, and arrangement will affect the client responses (as
well as pt. Age, sex, religious, and social status. Presence of
family and friends can also affect client responses)
Organize the interview with an opening to build report, a body to
collect information, and a closing to end the conversation in a way
the client feels satisfied with the next steps
Identify at least two frameworks utilized for organizing data -

Gordon's functional health patterns . Maslow's is a pyramid
