effectively.
B. CIPP
• Context
i. A need that I wish to address by using this curriculum is that students
struggle to think critically and tend to shut down when lessons are
rigorous. Wit and Wisdom expects students to be independent in
their reading and writing when they get to the second grade level.
• Input
i. One component of the curriculum is that it includes essential questions,
focus questions, and content framing questions. This requires students to
continuously think about how the subject answers those different
questions. Another component that the curriculum includes is
collaboration. Rather than continuously getting ideas from the teacher,
students are able to collaborate with peers and think critically about the
question being asked or topic being discussed.
ii. In order to evaluate the curriculum, I will give pre and post-assessments
to be sure that students understand the intended objective of the
module/unit. I will also collect feedback from teachers who are teaching
the content. Another way I will evaluate the curriculum is class
observations of the content being taught along with student engagement.
• Process
i. I will implement the curriculum by organizing professional development
for teachers. This will be important to make sure they are familiar with
the curriculum and processes of teaching it. I will also do a pilot program
of the curriculum to be sure that it meets the needs of the students and
teachers as a whole.
