dog trainer job description that align with the shelter’s goals.

According to the task 3 scenario, one of the current goals is to add dog training services to the
shelter’s current program offering. The grant will provide the funds to hire 3 positions to
provide both group-level dog training classes as well as in-home training for new dog owners.
To be able to achieve these goals, the shelter will need to hire someone with the proper
knowledge and skills to work with both groups and individuals, and have training experience.
The following are recommendations for qualifications to add to the Dog Trainer Job description.

1. Experience teaching both group and individual dog training classes.
2. Experience in public speaking, presenting, or teaching groups of people.
3. Certified in Dog training

A2. Explain how the shelter taking steps to commit to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) can
be included in the shelter’s employee value proposition and talent acquisition plan.

The shelter can take steps to commit to DEI by making job postings more accessible to a larger
group of people. They can do this by posting openings on multiple platforms, from college
universities to senior centers and online job boards. They can target specific groups of people
that they would like to hire, and even offer internships to college students, or provide
scholarships as an incentive.

They can also make sure that the hiring process is more accessible from start to finish by
offering online applications as well as in-person applications. Focus on their onboarding process
to include any accommodations that would be necessary, such as larger font, multiple
languages, and audio options.

A3. Compare the current salaries and wages with the external compensation data for the dog
trainer position by completing the following:

a. Identify the range and median wage for the position in the United States using the most
up-to-date information provided on O*NET within the past month. Include the date
when this information was accessed.

A3b. Recommend two actions that the shelter could take related to total rewards to
make the dog trainer position more attractive to candidates.

1. Provide Tuition Reimbursement for further education.
2. Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance.

In the focus group results, it states that employees would like to see tuition reimbursement
so they could go to vet school if they like. If the shelter offers tuition reimbursement as part
of its total rewards package, it would draw a lot more candidates to apply for the position.
There are some people who would like to further their education but can’t afford to, and this
would be a great addition to their total rewards package.

Offering medical, dental, and vision insurance would complete their rewards package. The
shelter already offers many rewards to full-time employees, such as 2 weeks of paid vacation, 1
week of paid sick time, a flexible work schedule, fifty percent off adoption and boarding fees,
workers’ compensation, and unemployment insurance coverage; however, they do not offer
any type of insurance. Medical, dental, and vision insurance is a must. Most companies these
