• May also help prevention of haemorrhage postpartum/abortion



Methylprednisolone - Answer• Corticosteroid;

Uses: TX: severe inflammation, multiple myeloma, SARS;

S/E: euphoria, infection, Cushing's syndrome



Nitro-glycerine - Answer coronary vasodilator;

Uses: TX: angina pectoris, HF, acute MI;

S/E: headache, flushing, dizziness, postural hypotension.

•Do not take with tadalafil



Oxytocin - Answer• Hormone;

Uses: induction of labour, missed or incomplete abortion, postpartum bleeding;

S/E: uterine rupture, fatal hypoxia, tachysystole, HTN, seizures



Piperacillin/tazobactam - Answer• Anti-infective;

Uses: TX: moderate to severe infections, endocarditis;

S/E: N/V/D, vaginitis, seizures, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.

•Pt.’s allergic to penicillin should avoid this medication.



Risperidone - Answer• Antipsychotic;

Uses: TX: Bipolar Disorder, mania, schizophrenia, ADHD, dementia;

S/E: EPS, tardive dyskinesia, insomnia, headache, weight gain.
