Client - Answers the concentric circles surrounding a core, the person, an unlimited entity with an
active personality system, whose evolution follows principles symbolism, and systemic organizations,
any system that interacts with the environment, influences it and influenced by it
Basic structure - Answers the core, the person, an unlimited entity with an active personality system
Lines of resistance - Answers closest to the basic structure, protective mechanism, protect the
integrity of the basic structure, activate after stressor invasion
Normal line of defense - Answers the clients usual state of wellness, the baseline, develops overtime,
impacted by internal and external factors, if hit by stressor reaction occurs
Flexible line of defense - Answers forms the outer boundary of the client, protects the normal line of
defense (usual state of wellness), a buffer for the client and stressors, improve wellness
Variables - Answers can be at all different levels, there is unlimited potential for interaction among

requires that interventions are directed toward counteracting movement toward entropy
Primary intervention - Answers intervention protecting the normal line of defense (increasing flexible
line of defense's ability, and decreasing risk factors), exercise and diet
Secondary intervention - Answers when the normal line of defense is disrupted, resulting in
symptoms (strengthens the systems lines of resistance, protecting basic structure), pain meds
