"Cough'
The sound of single cough explodes through the room as the air ripples from
it. I feel the change of its pressure as it passes me. I don't move as I continue
to listen to the sound fade and feel the air rest around me.
I hear subtle footsteps move behind me. I turned around and smile back to
the women as I hear her lip's part. She stops about two feet away from me
and she whispers" it's time for the next test". I nod and walk behind her
silently careful to not disturb the particles within the air. I follow directly
behind her stepping only where she does to ensure I don't run in to a walk.
I brush past a door way and follow her in to a longue room that seems to be
different than the floor is soft and the air is seemingly impossible to read. I
slam my foot on the ground and two air particles stopped as they hit the wall
smile forms on my face as I stomp as hard I can repeatedly. I say softly my
vocal cards raspy as it's the first time in 4 years," we should have thought
about this soonest".
The particles from my voice tickle my neck and face as the part from my lips.
I faintly hear the women sigh in relief, "Alright Mr. Nang I have to warn you
people trend to go crazy in this type if rear. I gesture for her to leave and
moments later I hear the door close softly. I sit in perfect silence for the first
time since I lost my sight.
Everything feels serenity I close my eyes, although I can't see and lay back
on the cushioned floor. With years of practice under my belt I suppress the
sound of my body. The blood flow silently. My heart beating, the pressure felt
but sound heard. I breath In deeply and fall asleep surrounded by clear
thought.
Page 2:
I usually don't dream because my brain is clouded with maddening sounds.
Tonight, is different. I see my darling niece smiling at me with her hair up in
pigtails. We are walking together not speaking a word.
That's when I hear it. Boom! I feel the ground shake and debris flees
everywhere. I blackout and after that feels like an eternity, I open my eyes
but see only darkness. I hear a loud drumming sound and what sounds like a
white river current. I scream but it only worsens the pain.
