Dear Mentor,
Thank you for agreeing to support and guide this UNISA student. Only under the supervision
of experienced teachers can our students get acquainted with the realities of teaching. What
you do for this student will be invaluable in their preparation for the profession.
We would like to request the following from you:
• Make time once a week to discuss the student’s progress and the schedule for the follow-
ing week.
• Allow the student to observe all your lessons and write a short report on 25 of them.
• Assist the student in systematically working through the portfolio during the 25 days.
• Ensure the portfolio is completed in full, including all attachments, by the end of the 25
