A disease is a condition of living organisms (animals and plants) that impairs the whole
body's normal function of some living organism parts. A disease also refers to an abnormal
condition that interferes with the body's vital physical and physiological processes. The
common causes of diseases are viruses, parasites, unfavorable environments. Also, pathogenic
microorganisms, genetic disorders, and nutrition components cause many health disorders. A
disease means illness or sickness (Hatoun, Jonathan, et al., 2020). Diseases vary from different
categories and types. The common types of diseases are infectious diseases caused by
pathogens or germs such as parasites, viruses, bacteria, and fungi. The World Health
Organization categorizes contagious diseases as the second leading cause of many deaths
worldwide. Infectious diseases commonly affect the human immune system and include
diseases like the recent Corona Virus, HIV/AIDS, influenza, common cold, and chickenpox. Type
1 diabetes is another common type of disease that attacks and destroys the beta cells that
make insulin in the pancreas. Cancer is also a common type of disease caused by the
uncontrolled growth of cells in the body. Liver disease affects smokers and alcoholics and stops
the function of the liver. Heart diseases also affect heart and blood vessels and cause

inflammation within the vein. Other common diseases include pneumonia, hepatitis B, celiac
disease, allergies and asthma, malaria, tuberculosis, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple
sclerosis.
Diseases affect either gender, but some infections are more severe in specific sex than
others (Pieh et al., 2020). For example, chronic diseases are more prone and life-threatening to
men at young ages, while women are mostly affected by cervical cancer. Some disorders and
conditions affect women, like Turner syndrome, most types of cancer, whereas other ailments
like heart disease, lung cancer, and influenza mainly affect men. For this reason, the life
expectancy statistics show that men die at a young age than women because they are more
burdened by illness during their life span. The age of individuals matters as far as diseases are
concerned. At a young age, the body is healthy and immune to diseases, but as one ages and
gets old, the immune system weakens, and the older generation becomes prone to infections
(Wickens, Christine M., et al., 2021). There is a direct correlation between age and disease; in
such a period, the degree of contradicting and becoming more prone to disease also increases.
Diseases like cardiovascular disease, many types of cancer, type 2 diabetes, hypertension,
among others, are associated with the aging population. Individuals' social status puts in
different classes and ranks when it comes to the treatment of illness and sickness, although no
class is unique to any disease. There is inequality between the upper, middle, and lower classes
and the working class, with the upper classes having the capacity and capacity to fight illness
and get treatment whenever necessary. People with lower social status have a low life
expectancy and suffer most from disease than those of higher social status. Another factor
related to how diseases distribute and particularly infectious disease like the Coronavirus is
