Sorority Rush – Questions Guide for Prospective

So, how are you feeling? Is it going to be a tough decision? - ANS✔✔ I'm feeling great!! No - it's
not going to be a tough decision - this is my #1 house. I feel so at home here and I've just loved
every girl I've met this week.
Are any of your friends also going through recruitment? / Is your roommate in a sorority? (if
applicable) - ANS✔✔ Yes, I do know a couple of other girls going through recruitment. It seems
like everyone around here is rushing!
Do you and your roommate / friends want to be in the same house? Package deal? - ANS✔✔
Oh my gosh - I hadn't thought of that. It would be so fun if we ended up in the same house.
Honestly no though, we all get to live together already, which is awesome! So we're all going to
be excited and supportive of each other wherever we land, and we're all just looking to find the
best fit for us. / I'm basing my decision off of where I feel most at home. But it's been great
meeting all the girls here and I'm definitely hoping to come back tomorrow! / Or No, I'm looking
for the best fit for me. If we end up in the same house, that would definitely be fun, but we just
want each other to each find our home, and if that's in different houses, we're going to be super
excited for each other then as well! / We'll all be excited for each other wherever we land. :)
Are we your top pick? If you're still unsure or on the fence, is there anything we can answer or
clarify to help you make your decision, or anything say to change your mind and convince you to
choose us? - ANS✔✔ YES this house is my #1 pick! That's an easy question to answer. No
additional questions or concerns on my end. The more the girls here have told me about this
house, the more hopeful I've been to get this on my bid card!! (If you'd like to lead into another
question, you could ask. "What does the new member class typically do on bid day?" or "Where
is the new member retreat?")
My friend said you were considering another house over ours, is that true? - ANS✔✔ Calmness
and confidence is key here as you answer: "NO way! Haha - that's how rumors get started. Glad
I could be here to clear that up." or "It must just be so confusing talking to so many different
, girls! So easy to get the wires confused." **There's no way the houses have time to check on
this. It's a trick question.
Are you a legacy? If no: You can disregard this one and answer no. Just don't lie and say yes and
make something up!! If you ARE a legacy: it's not something you place a priority on - you're here
to find the best house for you. - ANS✔✔ Or if you are a legacy, answer: Yes, but my legacy is at a
different college so it's not really playing into my decision. (Or that yes, you are a legacy, but
you're not tied down - you want to find the best house for you and you LOVE it here at this
house you're currently in.)
What sorority are most of your friends in? - ANS✔✔ Keep in mind, if you don't have a sister or a
ton of good friends in any one house, they won't look at cutting you like they will for the
rushees that appear to have best friends currently in the houses (like sophomore rushees with
established friend groups). It's fine to say that you have friends in a couple of different ones, but
you don't have a TON of friends in a particular house, so you're keeping an open mind. (And
loving the house you're currently in.)
Option 1: "Oh, I don't know anyone yet, but I am just LOVING the girls here. I feel so at home!! I
hope to come back tomorrow."
Option 2: "I don't know too many girls in Greek life - that's why I'm here and excited to join a
sorority! I'll guess find out on bid day haha." OR "Being from out of state, I don't know too many
girls here aside from the freshmen I've met going through recruitment."
Option 3: "I don't know many girls in sororities here, but all my friends who went Greek at other
schools have been so excited and supportive when I told them I planned to rush! Everyone has
been so sweet and offered me all sorts of helpful advice."
Option 4: "I have a couple of friends in different houses. They were all so excited for me when I
said I planned to rush!" Just be sure to say you're loving the house you're currently in.
Are they rushing you hard? - ANS✔✔ Everyone was super welcoming and sweet! And gave me
helpful tips and were all so supportive and excited for me. But I'm very happy to be here at this
house and I've loved meeting all these sweet girls. And it's really great being back here and
seeing all these familiar faces!
