Claims division, which focuses on processing payments and billing
statements for Medicaid and Medicare programs. The company places a
strong emphasis on family values and employee well-being, and I am
committed to continuing my growth within the organization as I complete my
degree.
The health insurance industry involves numerous financial transactions that
are essential to its operations. For example:
Member Premiums: These payments serve as a primary revenue
source, enabling the company to cover medical expenses for its
members. Without premiums, the commercial side of the business
could not sustain itself.
Government Funding: Programs such as Medicare and Medicaid
provide funding that ensures unemployed and low-income individuals
have access to health benefits. These programs support the company’s
mission of delivering better health, better care, and better cost to the
communities it serves.
Provider Payments: The company reimburses healthcare providers
for services rendered to members. This reciprocal relationship among
members, providers, and insurers is critical to maintaining the integrity
of the healthcare system.
In my current role, financial accounting is vital. Accurate tracking of incoming
funds and outgoing payments allows for proper budgeting, which supports
the company’s ability to thrive and continue offering services. Inaccurate
budgets or financial statements can lead to overspending, jeopardizing the
company’s stability and potentially resulting in loss of government funding
due to inconsistencies.
