Daman Singh is leading a good standard of life. Moreover, he plans to open a new branch office in a few
months: In the context of above case:-

a) Identify the different points highlighting the role of profit in business being discussed in the above
paragraph.

b) 'Earning profit cannot be the only objective of business'. Do you agree with this statement?

Q 4. X, Y, Z have mutually decided to set up small factory in rural area. They decided to hide the
association of X with factory to outsiders, and Y will not take part in day to day activities of business
due to his health issues. However, Z will take active part in all activities. Whenever they have problems
in getting credit or financial help, they use the name of their friend 'P' with his consent.

Briefly explain the various types of partners, mentioned in the above paragraph.

Q 5. Seema, Sushma, and Suhana became good friends by pursuing a fashion designing course from a
premier institute in Delhi. Seema expressed her desire to start a business in partnership with Sushma
and Suhana after completing their course. Sushma and Suhana readily agreed but at the same time
expressed their desire to join Seema in business only on the condition that their liability will be limited
in the business.

In context of the above case:

(i) Identify the type of partnership that Sushma and Suhana are referring to.
(ii) How is this type of partnership different from the other type of partnership formed on the
basis of liability?

Q 6. Mother Dairy was commissioned in the year 1974 as a wholly owned subsidiary of the National
Dairy Development Board (NDDB). The company originally focused on Delhi and other parts of the
National Capital Region (NCR). It later expanded to other regions in India Today, Mother Dairy
manufactures markets & sells milk and milk products including cultured products, ice creams, paneer
and ghee under the Mother Dairy brand. The Company also has a diversified portfolio with products in
edible oils, fruits & vegetables, frozen vegetables, pulses, processed food like fruit juices, jams, etc. to
meet the daily requirements of every household. In the survey, the brand also witnessed a significant
move in its Trust Index from 70% to 83% in 2015.

In context of the above case:

a) Define the term 'company'.
b) In the light of the above paragraph briefly outline any three merits of a company form of
organisation which have contributed effectively towards the growth of Mother Diary over the
years.

Q 7. To overcome the difficulties faced by public in transport system , the government of India started
the METRO project in which the government involved private sector participation to get the benefits of
efficiency of private sector . The project was great success as lacs of people are enjoying the metro
service to move from one place to other.

Q 8. With Enactment of LIC Act , 1956, an autonomous body , Life Insurance Corporation of India was
formed. The act defines its powers, duties and functions . It has a separate legal entity. It is fully owned
by the government. It has an independent financial policy and can raise funds by borrowing from the
public and government. However, it is not subject to any budgetary accounting or audit control like
Railways . Its annual report is presented in parliament every year.

a) Name the type of public sector enterprise referred in above case.
b) Name the act under which it is formed.
c) Name any other statutory corporation.
d) State two features of statutory corporation mentioned above.

Q 9. A transport company took an accident insurance policy for all its vehicles. A truck
of that company carrying oranges met with an accident. Due to that accident three
was no damager to oranges but oranges were unloading from that truck and reloaded
to another. Due to time wastage in unloading and reloading, the oranges got spoiled.
Will the company get compensation for loss of oranges from the insurance company
or not? Which principle is related with this case? Explain that principle of insurance

Q 10. Software Engineers working in 'General Technologies' are very happy as they got the freedom to
work from home. Their boss told them that they are free to carry their work back home and just need to
complete the project assigned to them on time. So all the engineers are taking their daily assigned
tasks from the daily work manager and save it in their laptops to complete it at their convenience at
their homes. The initiative was taken by the general manager so as to allow the employees to spend
more time with their families which in turn can increase their potential, creativity and efficiency. On the
basis of the given information about General Technologies, answer the following questions.

a) Identify the dimension of e-business talked about in the above situation.
b) State any other two dimensions of e-business.

Q 11. Hemant and Co. is a leading manufacturer in mobile phones. It provides different categories of
mobile phones. For this purpose, they interact with different suppliers to get necessary raw material
through the internet to manufacture their products. Transactions like placing orders, delivery of
components, and making payments are done electronically through the internet. In addition to the
above, they also adopt effective measures to protect the environment from the dangers of pollution.
On the basis of the given information about Hemant and Co., answer the following:

(a) Identify the type of e-Business highlighted above.
(b) What are the resources required for successful e-business implementation?
