Georgie (the main character) has a boat folded out of paper and is super happy with it and shows it
to his big brother. His brother proposes to 'sail' the boat in the rain. They go outside together and
Georgie puts the boat in the rain and the boat starts to sail. In the end, both brothers don't keep up
with the boat anymore. Georgie runs hard behind the boat to his brother is tired and takes it easy.
Georgie sees his newly folded boat straight into a sewer. He looks carefully into the sewer and looks
and looks. When he is not paying attention, suddenly there is a clown in the sewer. It is Pennywise
the dancing clown. They talk to each other and eventually Pennywise wants to give the boat back to
Georgie. When Georgie reaches out his hand towards Pennywise he bites Georgie's arm off and drags
him into the sewer. His brother sees Georgie's yellow jacket lying in the street but doesn't see
Georgie anywhere.
After a while some 'losers' and Georgie's brother form a group of friends. There is a fatter boy in it
and a somewhat boyish girl, there is also an insecure boy in it. When they go outside to play near a
sewer ditch they find a shoe of a previously disappeared child from the village. They walk into the
sewer to look for her and maybe they find Georgie too. They hear some voices of children and
suddenly a red balloon comes flying and behind it a scary clown scares them and runs away as fast as
they can.
After that moment weird things happen to all the children. They see the red balloon everywhere and
they hear the voices from the sewer every day. They do some research on an old abandoned house
in the village. And they see that same clown on many pictures.
When they walk into the house they meet this scary clown. He manages to get the group apart in the
house. Two children are upstairs, two others are on the first floor and the last two are in the
basement and find a kind of pit that goes very far into the ground. Eventually they manage to get rid
of the clown and quickly go home.
All the children are still curious about the well. Later in the week they would return to the scary
house and go into the well and see where it goes. The well is so long that the rope they had with
them didn't even make it. They all fell down far into the well that ends in a deep sewer system. They
walk through some corridors and open a big, heavy door. What could be seen behind that door was
very heavy.
It was a very big room with a circus house in the middle and behind it a very big mountain with
clothes, shoes and toys of children. All children were floating around that mountain. Also little
Georgie. In the end they beat the little one and Georgie is the old one again. They run quickly out of
the sewers, quickly out of the house, once outside they are very happy that Georgie is back and there
is nothing with him.
