How to Format an E-mail Message
The key to writing and formatting e-mail message is to keep them short. Most
people do not read beyond the first or second paragraph, so say what you need
to say at the beginning of your message.
• The Tone must be formal.
• The message is to be conveyed using clear and simple language.
• An e-mail is no excuse for shoddy expressions, short forms or SMS
vocabulary and spelling.
• Traditional rules for punctuation are to be maintained. (Judicious use of
