- Hx and physical
- Ortolani (abducts) and Barlow (adducts) tests
- Imaging (radiographs)
Tx
1. Pavlik Harness - babies under 6
2. Closed Reduction = Non-surgical procedure to manually
realign the hip joint
3. Open Reduction = Surgical procedure to realign hip joint
,4. Spica Casting = Full body case that immobilizes the hip and
legs holding them in place while they heal
Glomerulonephritis

- Teaching
= Glomeruli (tiny filters) in the kidneys becomes inflamed
leading to issues with waste and fluid removal
S/S
1. Swelling in the face, hands, feet or abdomen
2. Blood or protein in the urine
- Tea colored urine
- Foamy urine
3. Hypertensive
4. Fatigue

- Urinalysis
- Labs
- Kidney biopsy (assess kidney function)
Tx

changes, medications)

Teaching
- Explain dietary changes needed - low sodium diet
- Medication Adherence
- Activity management (avoid strenuous activity)
Nephrotic Syndrome

- Tx
= Kidneys leak excessive protein into urine leading to swelling
and high cholesterol d/t damage of glomeruli
S/S
1. Excessive proteinuria
2. Edema (significant)
3. High cholesterol - leading to foamy urine and wgt. gain d/t
fluid retention
