2. A Challenge in My Community: Food Insecurity and its Psychosocial
Impact in Soshanguve
One of the most pressing challenges in my community is chronic food
insecurity, which extends beyond a simple lack of food to encompass a
deeper psychosocial crisis. While poverty is widespread, the issue
manifests not just as empty cupboards, but as a source of profound stress,
shame, and social fragmentation. Many families, particularly those with
children, the elderly, and unemployed youth, struggle to access nutritious
