, ### **Chief Complaint & Patient Profile**
* **Patient:** Brooke Pruitt, a 30-year-old female.
* **Chief Complaint:** "My neck has been killing me for about two
weeks now. I thought it would go away, but it’s just stuck." .
### **History of Presenting Illness (HPI)**
Brooke reports a two-week history of posterior neck pain and stiffness.
The onset was gradual, and she cannot pinpoint a specific inciting
event, although she mentions doing an intense hot yoga class about
three weeks ago that felt fine at the time. She describes the pain as a
"deep ache" located at the base of her skull and across the top of her
shoulders, sometimes feeling like a "knot that won't loosen up" .
The pain is aggravated by prolonged computer work at her desk job.
She reports that increased stress at work due to company restructuring
makes her "hold tension" in her shoulders. She has tried over-the-
counter acetaminophen with minimal relief. She denies any history of
trauma, falls, or recent injuries .
