20 Essential Emergency Drugs (Quick Study
List)
1. Epinephrine (Adrenaline)
• Use: Cardiac arrest, anaphylaxis
• Route: IV, IM (anaphylaxis), ET
• Key point: IM in lateral thigh for anaphylaxis;
watch for arrhythmias
2. Atropine
• Use: Symptomatic bradycardia,
organophosphate poisoning
• Route: IV, IM
• Key point: Ineffective in high-degree AV
block; causes tachycardia
3. Adenosine
• Use: Supraventricular tachycardia (SVT)
• Route: Rapid IV push
• Key point: Very short half-life; causes brief
asystole (warn patient!)
